First Day of Class: Assignment for Wed, Jan 20, 2016

There are four required books for our class, and it looks like all are in stock at the bookstore. I want to give a homework assignment due on our first day so that we hit the ground running for our only meeting in the first week.
Please obtain your copy of the Beal book, Religion in America: A Very Short Introduction this week (either at the bookstore or by ordering online), and read it before coming to class on Wednesday, Jan 20th.
As the title suggests, it is quite short and if we’ve all read it, we will have plenty to talk about at our first class meeting. I also hope it will begin to get your creative juices flowing on a possible topic for your seminar paper.
