J6 Prompt: Thoughts on the Afterlife

by Dr. H - March 15th, 2016

…after graduation, that is.

For your J6 journal prompt, spend some time in self-reflective writing thinking about your post-graduate plans. How will you use your History degree (or not)? What career planning have you done so far? What do you look forward to & what do you not look forward to? What did our conversation on Monday about the history profession get you thinking about? As usual: polished writing of about 650-700 words in length. This will probably turn into the rough draft of your future portfolio statement, i.e. what your Worcester State education has been preparing you for and what you’ve learned from it.

PS – I’ll bring my copy of Great Jobs for History Majors to class… good reading if you haven’t run across it yet.

Also: reminder, you will consider Kippenberg’s article about applying theory to religion & violence on Wednesday, so be sure to prepare for that discussion. It’s posted on Blackboard under “Readings,” along with the career handouts from the other day.
