Some early announcements

by Dr. H - January 20th, 2016

Thanks to all for a good first class meeting. Just wanted to reiterate the announcements from today.

Here’s the short film we watched on Furnace Mountain if you wanted to see it in better color on your own screens (I will try to see if the classroom machine can be addressed & fixed).

Re: Can you be Jewish and atheist and/or humanist? See here, here, and here for “yes,” but prominent atheist David Silverman says: no.

Ok, the reminders:

1) Write me something (length is determined by what you have to say) about Beal’s book, and email it to me by Friday.

2) I will post the research self-assessment survey on Blackboard by the weekend, please take that before Monday. It should take about half an hour of your time, maybe less.

3) Remember to bring your laptops on Monday for “Technology Day” as we get your individual portfolios up and running.

4) Get hold of a U.S. history textbook (college or high school level), you will need it to write the assignment and participate in class discussion next Wednesday. I have quite a few I can lend, so if you need one, let me know by email or stop by my office to choose one.

5) I’m posting this on the Blackboard announcements page as well, but in general, I will only update the course website, so always check there first for any updates.
